Suggested Itinerary
Day 1: Welcome to Darwin
Touch down at Darwin International Airport and make your way to the centrally located Hilton Darwin via taxi or Uber. After checking in and settling into your room, start exploring the city with a stroll through Darwin’s vibrant street art trail, where bold murals and hidden laneway artworks showcase the city's multicultural heartbeat.
As the afternoon winds down, stop in at Charlie’s of Darwin, a trendy laneway bar known for its local gin selection and ‘Taste of the Territory’ platter — a great introduction to the flavours of the Top End.
In the evening, make your way to the Darwin Waterfront and enjoy dinner at CHOW, a past Laksa Festival winner. This popular Asian fusion restaurant is loved for its flavourful laksas, aromatic phos, and creative cocktails — the perfect way to kick off your laksa-filled weekend.
Day 2: Markets, Local Flavours & a Sunset to Remember
Start your morning with a laksa muffin and coffee from Makan Stop, then head off on a guided tour of the Parap Markets, a Saturday morning staple for Darwin locals. Discover the city’s freshest produce, handmade goods, and legendary dishes — including Mary’s Laksa, a long-time local favourite.
After your market adventure, take a walk on the wild side at Crocosaurus Cove in the city centre. Here, you can meet some of Australia’s most iconic reptiles — and for the thrill-seekers, there’s the Cage of Death, where you’ll come face-to-face with a massive saltwater crocodile.
In the evening, set sail on a Darwin Harbour Dinner Cruise. As the sun dips below the horizon, enjoy a gourmet meal on the water and soak in one of Darwin’s famous sunsets — a truly unforgettable Top End experience.
Day 3: A Relaxing Day of Local Favourites
Ease into your Sunday with a relaxing morning around town or by the hotel pool. Then make your way to Kopi Stop, where you’ll find Singaporean-style comfort food infused with Darwin flair — think laksa-inspired dishes and exceptional coffee.
From 4pm, head to the iconic Mindil Beach Sunset Markets. Browse stalls filled with global street food, local crafts, and live music, all while watching another breathtaking Darwin sunset over the beach. It’s the perfect way to savour the last moments of your weekend.
Day 4: One Last Taste of Darwin
Before you say goodbye, enjoy one final laksa experience at Chok’s Place, a two-time Darwin Laksa Festival champion. Their rich, flavourful broth and bold spices are a fitting finale to your tropical food adventure.
Then, return to the hotel, collect your bags, and make your way to the airport — full of memories, flavours, and a newfound love for the Top End.
